-
- Compared to whatever's powering your Amiga, the 603 and 601 are
- fast. The 603e is faster, the 604 is really fast, and the forthcoming
- 604e will scream.

-
- Have you ever tried MacOS on a 680x0-based Mac? It's awfully slow in
- places that are awfully fast on the Amiga, which makes the whole thing
- seem slower that it ought to. Of course, if you're running a 680x0
- application on the PowerMac, don't expect it to be fast, it isn't.

-
- That may be, but the issue is price, eh?
-
- >The price of the A4000T is much more than PCs, Mac cost.
-
- The inital A4000Ts are the result of a short lead time, small
- production run. There's no way to make a cheap computer that
- way. Also, A4000T is based on a system design we had just about
- completed in 1989. For a 1989-1990 system, it stacks up extremely
- well, but things haven't stood still for the last 6 years.

-
- There are members of the Alpha family consderably faster than the
- PPC604. And yet, a $2000 microprocessor doesn't exactly have a home in
- a $2000-$2500 computer. RISC isn't a problem, it's a solution.
